Little-known Timacuan Golf Club in Lake Mary is a big-time Orlando-area play
Everyone may not know its name, but you'll certainly be glad you came to Timacuan Golf Club. The front nine is a dunes-style layout with rolling fairways and big greens. The back nine is more of a traditional Florida layout where water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. A quick trip from Orlando, Timacuan is both the smart and convenient play.

Panther Run Golf Club is probably the best value in southwest Florida. Located roughly 30 minutes inland from Naples, this Troon Golf-managed facility is just far enough out of the way to keep costs down but close enough for golfers to make the drive. The President Country Club's Eagle Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at this semi-private club that opened to the public in 2011. It's not particularly long at 6,887 yards, but add water on 15 holes, and you've got one heck of a challenge.
