Pitiful 9 Hole Course
We played the Ugly and Good. Every aspect of the Ugly course was pitiful. The tee boxes, fairways, fringe and greens were all awful. The greens had large bare spots, large patches of sand and the little grass which was present was extremely bumpy and rough. The other aspects of the 9 hole course were equally as bad. Bare fairways/tee boxes/fringes, uncut grass in the secondary cut, etc. etc. Thank goodness we played the Good 9 holes on the back 9. It was in good shape and met the quality level which you would expect from a high dollar resort course.
Greens very poor
Rate at course was cheaper than golf now price, and they discounted the difference. They admit it when checking in, but greens are in awful shape on Ugly, and only a bit better on Good. Pro shop and beverage folks were great, but had 3 different occurrences while playing where maintenance staff had no respect for golfers. (Rode by with maintenance vehicles and equipment banging while teeing off, and blaring radio conversation when putting. Need some training!

We have worked with our representative to ensure all rates online are equal to or discounted in comparison to rate at the course. All but a couple of the greens were next to unplayable,

Horrible!
Greens in rough shape, only have 2 courses available (Bad is getting new Greens).... Means they pack way too many people in. I'm not the best in the world but I waited a lot... Took over 5 hours to play 18. Won't do that again... I'll go to Bay Point

Lost all 27 greens
I played this course several years ago and loved every hole. Have to play conservative off of the tee but birdies are out there. However this year was much different. They have lost EVERY green. Some greens had more sand than grass. We decided to play two putt max after we all missed 10 footers by more than 3 ft due to bouncing. The staff was quick to tell us that this was a $90 facility normally but due to the greens, they are offering lower rates. Personally, anything over $25 is too much with the greens the way they are. They might, MIGHT be ready for the 2016 year. Otherwise, bargain them down and play two putt max.

Go somewhere else
Greens are garbage. Fairways aren't kept very well. Bunkers are packed down dirt. Go to Baytowne, Emerald Cove, Baypoint, or Kelly Plantation. No scenic vistas here. Just a beat up golf course. Maybe worth $20 but not what I paid. Staff and range are nice.

The greens are diseased
Hombre has lost its greens. The course should be closed until this issue is corrected. We booked thru last minute golfer with no refund possible, without looking at other reviews first. My fault. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE!

ugly course conditions
The greens were in terrace condition. The greens that had grass had been aerated and a lot of sand placed. Some greens had alnost no grass. On one of the greens, someone had drawn in the fertilized sand, "is this a sand trap or the green?" Bermuda in most fairways had little or no growth.

Nice fairways
Played ugly front side greens were poor condition. Back side called good greens were much better. Good layout.

Don't Waste your Time & Money
booked the ugly/bad combination however at checkin was told the bad was closed - redoing all the greens. plus tee boxes on the good nine were also being redone. course gave me a discount of $6 due to the construction work!! could they afford it? now to the worse part of the round! the greens on the ugly nine were the worst i've ever played on. very bumpy, little grass and lots of dirt. course should close while they try to get back into playable condition. avoid this course for at least the next 6 months!

Great course - just awful greens
Nice cource,but terrible greens, a friend said to chip up and give yourself 2 after that and not putt because the greens are so bad. I tend to agree.... But great layout,nice carts and friendly staff...

Greens were awful
I really liked the layout of the course but the greens were unputtable. They were atrocious unfortunately.

Hombre Good to Ugly
Bad course closed for maintenance so had to play Good and Ugly. Tees, fairways and greens are in terrible shape for this time of year compared to other courses in the area. Each year course gets worse so will never play hear again.

Greens have weed problem, very bumpy. Should not be charging full price till greens improve.

bad & ugly
Fairways hard as pavement. Greens were terrible. Very disappointing for the cost. Would investigate more closely before another booking.

Wet and cold
Was the day after a heavy rain. It was 48 and the course was all but underwater. The greens were more like painted dirt then grass. The staff greeting us the the parking lot was great, but in the "clubhouse" they were all business and not very friendly. The clubhouse was under repair, so we could not comment on it.
Bottom line, the course was to wet to be open, (with several inches of water covering cart paths and some playing areas) and was open only to collect $ from snowbirds. Not a fun day.

Bad codition
Course is not in good condition. Greens have hardly any grass on them, have been sanded and sprayed green. Fairways not much better. Play somewhere else at this time! Not worth the $ for the conditions.

The greens are colored with a pigmentation product, which multiple reputable courses use; TPC Sawgrass being one of them. The course was challenging for me.
I am a relative new golfer but I do love a challenge! I enjoyed playing through a residential area, loved the water and trying to tee over it! The Tee boxes were level and the putting greens had just enough slant to challenge you at putting! I was playing as a couple but we were asked if a single could join us and what a delight. He was a great addition and so forgiving to someone who has not played for years. I would love to go again! Thanks Golfnow for the great pricing. Also, may I add that Betsy in the Pro Shop was very good at looking after the bill. It did not come through at the right price. She !it right away and she fixed it immediately. Great course!
