Over priced
I was excited to play this course for the first time. Surprised the range is off matts into a net with no plan to install one. Some holes are unique and some are straight with no character. Landscaping is colorless and boring. No bunkers on the course but there are sandy waste areas. The stacked sod bordering the waste areas creates a bumper on some shots which is really strange.
Greens are humongous so a GIR can easily lead to a 3 putt.
Bottom line: interesting course, but severely overpriced.
Ragtop
For a resort-style course it was superb. Used to playing difficult courses in FL that are not resort-style. Very wide open course. Difficulty is in not knowing where the water comes into the course.
Definately Give It a Try
I was a fan of the old Raptor Bay course - but - I am an even bigger fan of the new Saltleaf. From the moment you hand over your bags at the bag drop to the beverage afterward - the experience was like being a 'member for a day'. The course redesign was creative yet not overwhelming. My wife is a new player and never once felt over-challenged. My advice to anyone would be to give it a try.
Saltleaf Experience
The 18 holes at Saltleaf were exceptional and the course conditions were excellent. Greens were fast and true. The new holes were just that new, but can certainly expect them to stand the test. Great course redesign and I will miss Raptor Bay, but Saltleaf is a very welcoming replacement.
The course conditions were excellent. Fast smooth grees, but not uncontrollably fast.
Did 9. Lots of fun, good course, passed the drink snack 3 times. But that twisty stick the ball rolled over on the fairway straightened out and slithered away.
Nice course
Very nice golf course. We played after 2pm when the rate is reduced by$100 to $ 249.I would not pay to play at a the higher as it is not justified. It's evident by the lack of players which made it very nice for us as we had no one in front or behind.
Resort Course
Nice layout with excellent amenities, friendly staff and top notch pro shop. Disappointing practice facilities with a net driving range and no short game area. Not even a chipping area. For the price this was unexpected and a letdown. I would hope they would enhance this area of the course to make it a more desired destination.
