Magnolia Plantation Golf Club

Magnolia Plantation is a beautiful, interesting course. Prices were very reasonable so I shouldn't complain but I'd rather pay a little more and move around the course faster. If there's a ranger at this course we didn't see him on this Thursday.

I'm glad to see Magnolia wasn't as bad as all had said. The course is putting some money back into the place.
The fairways are narrow, water on nearly every hole.
The staff inside and the bar were super friendly and ultimately made this a better experience.

Great setting. Deer and turkey there to greet you on some holes. It was a little wet on some fairways but there was a two inch rain earlier that week and it's close to a river. Very pleasing to the eye.

This course is quite the challenge. With water and trees throughout. Bring extra balls to this one. Since its reopening in Nov this course lacks some minor details. But not enough to keep me away. The clubhouse is pretty bare, course has limited waste baskets so i noticed trash all along the tree areas. And this may not be noticed by more skilled players but i found myself in sand traps but no rakes to smooth out my imprints. However the staff did say the rakes have already been ordered. Staff was excellent and attentive.

Much better shoe then it was two years ago......but the lack of yardage markers throughout the course is frustrating. Too many times I mis-clubbed to to lack of information on the course. Signs are wrong too. Btw, u completely ruined the 11th hole........

After reading some reviews I had my doubts. I was happy to find out the more recent reviews were correct in stating that the course was getting better condition wise. Most of the greens were in excellent condition. You can tell that a effort has been made to improve the course. The club house could use some merchandise since when you walk in the place looks like it's about to close down. Overall I would recommend this course for anyone who likes a challenge with lots of shots that have to carry water and a well designed course.

The course is in great condition. Greens are rolling true. Had dinner at clubhouse tonight and it was really good!

course was virtually abandoned for about a year.
based on that the course is in great condition.
the greens were in good shape and quick.
the overseeding was done well but the mgt is overwatering to the extent that there are wet spots in low lying areas, most of the bunkers have suffered from the excess water and need attention.

I hope they continue to work on the course since it is a challenging track.

THIS COURSE IS IN GOOD SHAPE BUT SO MUCH WATER IS NO EVEN FUNNY.WATER IS EVERY WHERE,ON THE SIDES OF THE TEE IN FROM OF THE TEE ON THE SIDES OF FAIRWAY,ON THE SIDES OF FAIRWAYAND ACROOSS FAIRWAY AROUND AND IN FROM OF GREENS.YOU HAVE TO BE SUPER ACURETED WITH YOUR SHOT,IF NOT LOOK FOR A NEW BALL THEY WONT SEE ME AGAIN UNTIL I BECOME AN SCRATH GOLFER..BRING YOUR SCUBA GEAR YOU WILL NEED IT...LOL

Great layout and tough challenging course. After going almost fallow this course is really shaping back up

First time playing this course. Fun layout but poor conditions

I have played this course several times this year now trying to give it a chance but it just keeps dissapointing. I played earlier in the year and it was mucky and nasty but rained the day before and played again right after they reopened and hadn't been completely mowed through and was still mucky but had rain again days before. I waited a few weeks until today to give it a chance to fully reopen and hasn't rained in nearly 2 weeks. Sure enough still mucky and water filled sand traps and the traps with no water had sand like cement. Tee boxes not mowed still and everywhere you look there is muddy tire marks from the carts. Instead of working on the course conditions they are out dredging the lakes for golf balls to resell and in the path of play while doing so. We even encountered a ranger placing sand in divits in front of a tee box we were going to hit from and he finally moved and we said hello when he looked our way with no reply. I honestly feel bad they supposidly spent money doing course improvements when this place is really just a dump. If they raise the prices like they said they were going to they will be closing again permanently. I think the only way I would play here again is if it were free.

Good deal. Poor course conditions. Hasn't trained much lately and whole course saturated.

Each week I play this course, I see improvements. From the greens, to the fairways and club house, I'm very happy to see how far this course has come!!!

haven't played here for over a year, the shut down have been great for this hidden gem. It still holding water because of location. Give this darlin a few more months it will be top notch. Some of the staff was out filling in divots during my play.

I played this course for the first time a few weeks ago. The carts are in good shape with wind protection.The course had just reopened after quite a period of neglect. The staff was hard at work bringing it back. Yesterday, I played it again. The condition was remarkably better. The course layout is terrific! I believe it will only get better as the staff continues to work hard on it. I plan to play here fairly often.

The course reopened about a month ago after being closed for several months. I see the makings of bring the course back. You can see the improvements on the course. It is and has always been a challenging course. I would rate most greens a B minus right now and a couple were C plus. The fairways were looking pretty good although as always some wet areas. I really think in a couple of months this course will be a 4 to 4.3 cousre. I am glad to see it back. Now if they will keep improving it will once again be a regular course for me.

The design of the course was good; A lot of water, good length, and fairly challenging. However, the tee boxes were as long as my lawn grass, there were invasive grasses on many parts of the fairways, the greens had dead spots and other course malfunctions to putt over. There is potentional for the course but it needs a lot of work and money stuck in it.

it was fist time for play, we were 3 player and 2 player, totaly 2 gourp around the 18 hole.
