Issues
Nice course, but expected it to be better than its sister course.
Troubled with other groups playing music, smoking cigars, and having a party on their round, but can't find out correcting their divets in the green, or using the rave in the bunker. And they obviously should have played a different (easier) tee.
The starter had no idea of the course slope, hence not able to calculate the number of strokes vs our handicap.
Nice Course
This is a course you need to play several times. The more you play it the more you learn to respect the personality of the course. I played in the Hickory Open a couple years ago . With the Hickory clubs you really have to think your way around the course where a successful hole is that much sweeter.
I have a love hate relationship with several holes. Go play it and enjoy the experience.

Lots of personality
A challenging course you need to think your way around it. A course you need to play more than once to really appreciate it.
Never had a chance to find out, we were looking forward to it but during the 1st hole the rain became pretty steady to the point I was getting very cold, soaked through my jacket, had to quit to avoid becoming sick and catching a cold. Tried to contact Golf Now but 3x on the chat I was cut off and not given a chance to ask for a refund or a rain check.
Very very disappointing

Good course, slow play
I come to the Mission Inn and play the 2 courses every year in January. El Campeon is a very nice course - challenging but accessible if you play well. I really like playing here - which is why I keep coming back despite the limitations. I played here 3 times (El Campeon twice and Los Colinas once) in the past week. Despite having a reserved tee-time, I never started less than 10 minutes after the assigned time. Earlier this week, I had a 12:33 tee-time, but the course started a scramble at 12:30!! I've never been to a course where the starter does not keep things on-time at the first tee. The pace of play is incredibly slow. The course was packed today so there was no where to go, but the group in front of us was 1-hole behind the ground in front of them. There was no course-ranger to get things moving along. This has been my experience every year. If I didn't like the layout (and to be fair, I've been coming here for over 20 years), the pace-of-play here would probably keep me from coming back.
Great Layout
There are two courses at the Mission. This was the first time I played the Campeon track. Lots of water on this course and the catch bunkers are in play on most holes. You don't need to be a long hitter, but you need to be straight. Next time I'll use my 3 wood more frequently. We had two foursomes ahead if us which were a little slow. If they had been playing ready golf, then no problem. Overall, a
great course with excellent amenities and staff.
Fantastic course in great condition
El Campion is a fantastic course in great condition. Elevation changes, mature vegetation, water hazards and a really interesting design.
There was a Ladies professional tour event being played and that shows the quality of the course.
It’s as good a course as you will find.
Fast greens
Greens are fast, they may have rolled them for the Next tournament. Staff is friendly, but pace could be a bit better. The only allow you to check in 30 mins beforehand. Lots of water on the course so bring extra balls!
Tough Course!
Very tough course with elevated greens and a substantial amount of hills to confront........and then there's the water!
Enjoyed it
Played a few years ago. It was as good as I remembered, maybe better. Other than playing behind a 40 person wedding party it was great. Actually, that wasn't that bad either. I'll come back if I see a good rate.
Pretty challenging course but a lot of fun to play
Pace of play was a little slow but played the course on a holiday weekend so that was expected. Warm up facilities are great. Greens were lightning quick. Lots of false fronts on the greens. Some challenging shots but there are a lot of fun holes. Overall it was a great experience.
Great track, hampered by slow pace of place
We drove about an hour to come play El Campeon, after hearing nothing but great things about it. A great rate on GolfNow was all the excuse we needed to make the drive.
The course didn't disappoint. It's definitely a challenge - and might be the hilliest layout in Florida. Played with a senior in the group so we all played up a tee box - and even having moved up, this was a challenging test of golf.
Conditions were totally acceptable. Nothing to write home about, but nothing I ever noticed as less than acceptable. The course was hosting the Orlando Am so it was getting a fair bit of use.
Pace of play was really the only issue. Despite the course being relatively empty late in the afternoon, we were stuck behind a fivesome (including a small child) who was then stuck behind a slow twosome. There was seemingly nobody else around. There was no ranger on the course while we were out there and so we found ourselves waiting on every tee box.
In short, the course was awesome, the people were great - and if they can just figure out how to better handle pace of play issues (which I know is not easy! Something every course struggles with) then this will be a must play for those visiting Central Florida!
