The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

high end course, fair rice
Considering it is mid march the course was in great shape. Greens were very fast. This is a good test of golf. Afun place to play.
STEVE
Great course. Challenging. Always enjoy the round.
Nice Layout Terrible Condition!
The layout is appealing but the overall terrible condition of the course ruins the experience! They are redoing the bunkers which is nice to see but spend some time and money on the tee boxes, fairways and greens! Second time here and both times the conditions were terrible. Will NOT make the mistake of returning again!
First Time
Wow. Looks quite open from the tees, but plenty of challenges all the way to the greens. Greens were large, undulating and some tough pin placements. Slicing will get you into trouble.
greens were in great condition
Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the greens for February. Paired up with great guys, we had fun on a cold day. Staff were very friendly. Layout is very challenging. Was told it was actually more punitive in years past. Will come back, a very good course.
Great Course and Greens
I've played NH about 150 times in the past 10 years and its gone through ups and downs. My friend and I got out before the Super Bowl and after the morning rain cleared and were able to buzz around 18 holes in 3 hours. The greens were immaculate, fast, firm and amazing! Many of the bunkers are getting drainage installed currently and due to the morning weather, were going to be wet anyhow. They have cut back much of the gorse/scrub/sawgrass that borders each hole and gives it the links feel. I miss the golf cart GPS systems that they used to have and they have not marked enough sprinkler heads w/ yardages, so if you dont have a laser range finder, you may be frustrated w/ getting accurate yardages. The clubhouse had a face lift and the staff is always fantastic! The rates have increased but its worth it as they have put money and care into the course!
Getting old
Buildings, out buildings, rest rooms and everything just starting to look dirty ad run down.
Nice layout
We enjoyed our first visit to GCNH and look forward to playing it again in March, when we come down again.
Great Golf Course
North Hampton is an absolute must play course if you’re in Jacksonville area. This was the 6th course I played this week and it was the best. Queens Harbor was a close second, but North Hampton is number one. Every other course winds through houses on every hole. This course makes you feel like you’re out on a golf course. Not someone’s back yard. The layout is awesome and the conditions were great. You can miss off tee and still score well. Challenging, but forgiving.
Play it !!
Excellent excellent excellent
Specially Mike at reception was excellent personality and helpful
Must play course in Jacksonville
Great course with a nice variety of challenging holes. Friendly helpful staff
Beautiful course. Great condition.
Course was fair. Heard that it was extremely difficult. Didn’t understand that. Beautiful layout in excellent condition. Greens were punched 3 weeks ago put healed. Will definitely be playing in the future. My new favorite
Great course near JAX
Was at JAX airport with an afternoon available and picked this course from Golf Now as I sat in the rental car at the terminal. A quick 15-20 minute drive north from the airport I arrived at North Hampton to play as a single.
Greeted in lot by staff who kindly delivered a cart to my car. I checked in had an excellent time as a single on a Thursday afternoon. Pace of play was great, the course fairways were in nice condition and the course layout was fun. Be sure to grab a course guide at the pro shop. This old school booklet had excellent intel for each hole and definitely saved me a few strokes. While homes are near the course, the homes don’t ”come into play”, as is the case with many Florida courses.
The course was challenging and fair. All tee boxes in nice shape, fairways were well kept and greens in good condition.
Amelia jewel.
Great layout, interesting landscape. Outstanding subdivision golf course.
This is a big reason the ownership has committed to updates, such as painting the dining room and adding new flooring in the last 3 weeks. A bunker renovation is currently underway with even more good stuff on the horizon.
