Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Course in great shape. Greens quick and eoll true. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Awesome course
I booked this course online and then arrived at the course for my tee time. When we arrived at the course we found out that the Atlantic 10 just had their championship rounds here for the last 3 days. The greens were extra fast and the pin placement was extremely difficult which we loved. We shot an 80 and 82. We had an awesome time. We will definitely be back.
Excellent
The Grand Cypress - New course is an excellent course. The conditions were great especially for a resort course that is pounded to death. The fairways were nice and tight like they should be. The greens were smooth and true. Valet parking at the door with very nice gentleman. The only disappointment was the course scheduled a 60 person outing at 2:15 shotgun. I had a 2:30 time, which let to over 5 hour round on a course that isn't overly difficult and fairly generous to the average swinger. The conditions and links style was enough to leave the frustrations as an afterthought.
Greens too interactive
First impression tainted at pro shop check-in with pretentious staff member who threw my credit card back to the counter after processing it. Yes I expect manners! Then off to the Tee deck which is backed up with a small tourney which is ok for awhile until it becomes painful with pace of play. The marshal was very pleasant and engaging but could not solve the problem. Lastly a few greens were shared with a two flag system which led to golfers firing at the wrong pins on a occupied green which meant incoming shots during play followed by chatter and jokes while trying to putt. Can't blame them for just having fun it is just the lay out of the course and it's intended design. Not my preference really as the greens are tough enough as is. Bottom line______ five hour round, no thanks.
OMG!
First, the track was good. Wide open, very forgiving and in really god shape. Greens weren't that fast but with the undulations speed would kill your average weekend player. Overall I really enjoyed the track and the conditions. HOWEVER, my experience started from the minute I checked in. Guy working the desk could care less I was ther much less that I was paying full rack rate. So OK, I get out of the pro shop into my cart, hit some balls and off to the first. Everything went down from there. I was paired up with some good guys, BUT...1) didn't see a bev cart for 6 holes. 2) By the 6th hole WE WERE 1:50 into round (yes, you read that right). 3) the second time we saw the bev cart, she had drinks, but no ice for the cooler (keep in mind it was an hour between 1st and 2nd visit). 3) one of the carts in our group died 14 holes in. Maybe not the end of world except for the fact that we had already seen 4 carts being towed. 4) when I called about the dead cart I was on hold for 7 minutes (made palatable by the fact that I had warm beer and was playing a 5:30+ hour round. 4). Was a 5:30+ hour round and I paid full rack. Was a good track, but the cons far outweighed any pros.
Grand Cypress - New Course
The links fairway layout and large double-flag greens makes for a refreshing break from the usual course layout. The course was in great shape and the staff courteous. Pace of play was slow due to a large group (some seven foursomes) having just started play before we teed off. Was able to take advantage of a great rate which made it even more enjoyable.
Great Course - Download the App B4 You Get There
This was one of our two favorite golf course after playing 6 straight days, but I recommend you download the Grand Cypress New Course App before you arrive at the course and bring your charger cord. The cart has a USB connection so you can use your phone or tablet all round.
A rare links style layout modeled after St. Andrews. The layout was fair and fun & we were finally able to find and fix our ball mark LOL. It's has been so dry in Orlando, most greens of other courses we played were rock hard, but Grand Cypress watered theirs sufficiently so the balls would hold the green. The app will allow you to "see" the hidden pot bunkers so a must. The only bummer was around Hole 14, we ran into a 6-some (4 were playing, but 6 were all putting) slowing play down considerable. Irritating, but it was such as wonderful course, even this little hiccup did little to dampen our enjoyment.
Great Experience
We had a great time! Course was beautiful and in great shape. The pace of play was good. The double greens are large, fast and fair.
Great Round at the New Course
Thoroughly enjoyed the round. Course was in great shape. Challenging but playable. Very friendly staff. Complimentary locker and shower facility was a bonus as we were flying out after the round. Pace was a bit slow but definitely recommend this course. Ice and water machines on the course another great bonus!
Little bit of Paradise
We stayed at the Villas at Grand Cypress. First class accommodation. The property is an Oasis of tranquility in the surrounding Disney concophaney.
You also have access to the Hyatt Grand Cyprss which is a phenomenal property.
Grand Cypress features the New Course, a replica of St Andrews plus and additional 27 holes.
Golf conditions are excellent. You can save on green fees if willing to play in afternoon.
The Clubhouse features a very nice bar and restaurant. The food is very good. Loved the breakfast. Finally the staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. The property has other amnenities; pool, pool bar, exercise facility, conference center, fishing and free bikes.
Highly recommend this facility.
St.Andrews
Had a great time, course design was perfect. Greens were fast and true wide fairways and great scenery. Cart girls are fantastic stopping by 4 or 5 times during our round. We got paired up with Joe and Debbie from St.Louis they were a delight.
Really good golf course
This New Course is phenomenal! Greens, tees and fairways were close to perfect. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Beers we purchase from the cart girl were a little expensive, in case anyone cares about that. I'm looking forward to going back!
Great Links Experience
If you are looking for a true links course in the US this is the one. Most North American courses that say they are links just hold a few aspects of links golf. Maybe a pot bunker or two, or a couple rolling fairways. Very rarely are they true links. This course was as close as I've ever played. If you were to transport this design to Britain, and say it was 100 years old, I would believe you.
Overall, it was a great experience and a great course. Amenities were okay. There was a range but nothing special. But I would certainly recommend this course. It is a fun, different type of golf that you are sure to enjoy.
Great time
Supper staff, course in great shape, great food and drinks. Loved it.
Really nice golf course
The new course had a few critical reviews about hidden bunkers, blind shots and unappealing views. Well welcome to true links golf. I have golfed in Scotland, Ireland and England and much of what you find is well replicated. If I had one issue it would be that the greens are a little quick for the undulations. It made some putting quite adventerous, however, fun!
A Piece of Scotland
If you're looking for a golf experience like none other, this side of the ocean, then this may be the course for you. Nicklaus designed this course with the famed Scottish Old Course in mind and he did a wonderful job. Double greens, little rough, berms, massive fairways and of course devilish pot bunkers!
Truly a different experience with conditions that are second to none as well.
Played this course in 1990 and again this month and it isn't showing any wear and tear at all, great job by the greens keeper and crew.
Thanks GolfNow for making it affordable with a Hot Deal!
Cool Course
Played a round at the New Course while on a business trip and had a great time. Very unique type of layout for Florida, especially some of the holes that have double greens. It was very windy so some holes were extremely challenging, but it was fun regardless. Definitely one of those courses that would benefit to play again to understand course layout and green complexes. Fairways are very generous!
