Enjoyed the course
Greens on the pack 9 were a little long and slow, but overall the course was in good condition
Good course
Challenging and difficult course well-kept conditions fun course to play.
The Good
The course was in great shape. I am guessing they recently worked on the greens. There was some residual fertilizer on the greens. Only problem was the members have a 12:00 tee time with 4 four-somes which hit us on the turn. After waiting behind them for 15 minutes, One of the members told us we could skip ahead to the 13th tee if we took the main road around. We did that and missed 10, 11, and 12. all in all, the course is worthy of another trip to play again... Just not on Friday when the members are scheduled.
Well maintained course with good water features
Well maintained, very nice sand bunkers, plenty of water hazards, but also open enough that any skill level player can enjoy.
Excellent course with moderate challenges
Golfed while on vacation with my brother and were paired up with two other Golf Now users. Pace of play was super. No one in front and no one behind (the high was 98 that day).
Greens were incredible and the fairways were decent. We got a kick out of the monstrous turtles swimming around hole 8. Tee boxes were in great shape also.
Staff was incredibly friendly. The startup guy was hysterical. "90 degree rule, but I'll let 89 slide", "We have drones that shock you when you don't repair your divots." You could tell he loved his job.
I highly recommend golfing here for your next stay in the 30-A/PCB area!
Would rate higher if more consistent.
Played a round at the Hombre this morning. Played the Bad and Ugly 9s and paid $59 plus tax. This included free range balls. Overall I liked the course. It was an interesting layout. A lot of water and a few forced carries. Several doglegs and a few blind shots. It would help to play the course before but that being said I still shot in the 90s like I normally do. The fairways were mown and in pretty good shape. The rough was still growing in. But it was ok. The greens and tees were a little inconsistent or I would have rated the course higher. Several al them were sandy and rough spots while others were smooth and in good shape. I will say the tees and greens seemed to get better as the course got going. The guy I partnered up with Ray had a hole in one on 14 so all in all a pretty good day and a pretty good place to play. Especially if you could find a coupon or deal to help with the price.
Great improvement from years ago
New greens
Course was a lot dryer this year
Tough course as most greens are oval shaped
Pace of play could use some work
Price a little on high side
Sloppy conditions
Unfortunately 2 of the 3 "9 hole courses" were closed so I had to play 9 holes twice. Conditions were poor and too much surface water.
Shame because I would have liked to play under better conditions.
Not Good HOMBRE
When we got to the course, we were advised that only one nine was available for play and we had to play it twice to get the 18 holes we paid for. This was very disturbing, because if we had known this, we would have played somewhere else. Golf Now website did not make this known at the time of booking. Very disappointing!!
Let it be known, only 9 holes open.
In first place GN SHOULD post that only 9 holes are open so play the same 9 holes twice. I was not happy that I drove over an hour and a half to get there to find this out.
Dissapointed yes, luckily the course was not in real bad condition and was able to hook up with some nice golfer's and enjoyed my day.
With only 9 holes open it did causes me slow play. I will wait till they open up the rest of the course before playing it again.
If you do want to play in July add an additional 45 minutes to an hour to you driving time, tourist traffic this time of year is horrendous.
The Good to the Bad
Second time plagying thand course. Played the Good to the Bad this year and previously played the Ugly to the Good. All three 9 holes tee boxes and fairways are is excellent condition. Offers plenty of challenges with a few dog legs that require a layup tee shots . The greens on the Bad were under repair last year and still need some work this year. Range balls are included with green fees. Bar and grill have plenty to choose from and $10 deposit to rent a cooler that you get back at the end of the round.
One of the best courses in Panama City area. This course a must play every PC beach visit.
Slow play
The play was so slow I could not focus on my play. I even skipped holes to get around to keep pace of play, then slowly play again after 3 more holes.
Under construction
Only 18 of 27 are open and the good nine is very average layout. The clubhouse renovation is great but course needs serious help!
Great Improvement
It is very nice to see the greens improving with the warmer weather
Great Deal
Great Staff
I'll be back
Work in Progress
Greens are in bad shape. In the process of redoing all the putting surfaces and need to wait to play until this time next year!
Good Day,
Hombre Golf Club apologizes for your past experience on your last visit. The putting greens have made a tremendous rebound over the past multiple weeks, and we are ready for you to come back and play again.
Please feel free to contact Hombre Golf Club if we can assist any further with your last visit.
Sincerely,
Hello Addison,
We are glad to read that you are excited about the clubhouse renovation that has taken place, and we are currently under a greens and bunker renovation on the Ugly (back 9). I'm sorry to hear that Hombre did not meet your golf expectations, and would like to invite you to contact us if there is anything we can do to enhance your experience at Hombre.
Sincerely,
