Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Awesome
My wife and I spent our 13th anniversary playing this course. This was an amazing experience for us as avid golfers. The course was amazing. The starter was super friendly and gave us a wealth of information about the course and it’s layout. Five stars all away around. Tony and Julie Barney.
Focus
Course is top notch tee to greens. Since this is resort golf there is more than the average slow play and lack of golf etiquette. It does not appear that the rangers are concerned with the behavior "not my first experience". However if you can stay focused through all of this it's a must play.
great course but......THE GREENS WERE HORRIBLE
Great Experience, loved the idea of a "different" style of golf course. Great Price on golfnow. Pace of Play for us equaled whatever you wanted we were the only group on the course at 1230pm/saturday had the place to ourselves!!!! The only complaint was that the greens had been punched we were told two weeks prior after arriving, well, they haven't recovered yet and kinda sucked to be honest, they bounced, they zigged, they zagged and made it very difficult to not inact a two putt rule not the way I wanted to experience the course for the first time. However, I will be back and I know this course will play much better and more difficult with fast smooth greens. Be prepared that perfect drives may end up in a bunker! Lastly, please add sand to greens and warn people of the current conditions. I would have rather paid more to play elsewhere than play "greens" that are indicative of a cobblestone road or semi goat field without trying to be to harsh :)
Great change of pace
Loved this Nicklaus copy of the old corse at St Andrews. Trick but fair. Loved not playing super narrow fairways lines with gunge and ponds. Play the tips for fun of it.
Great Value
I typically play the NSE tracks at Grand Cypress, actually booked the New Course by accident, but I will definitely put this course into my rotation. It was in great shape, tee to green. Only concern was pace of play because of high handy cappers in front of our group.
I love this course
The New Course is one of my favorites. It is a links course, and thus does not often severely penalize a wayward drive, but the greens make up for that. They have many contours and are uniformly fast.
While the weather was too hot, the course was in fabulous condition, and the summer rates ($54) were very good. I just wish it was closer to my home. The only drawback for regular play is the Disney World traffic on I-4, which can make travel miserable.
Scotland in florida
This course design was based on St Andrews...it is a fabulous links style course with large, but challenging greens. My favorite course in Orlando.
Simply one of the best courses in Orlando
For people like me that love wide open fairways, this course is the best. Having said that, with the traps being set all over the place and the water right in front of a number of greens and the green undulation make a ton of the pin placements very diffucult, the course is sneaky difficult. It was just an awesome time (first off on a friday at 8am), the course was in great shape and the value was ridiculous($50) for the course.
Great Course for the Price
Played the New Course (no its not new,1988) at Grand Cypress and found it to be as Challenging as you wanted it to be. There were several Tee options for all Levels of Golf. Considering the amount of Rain that the Orlando area had, this course Drained Very Well and was in Great Condition. If you have never played this course, IT's a Must Play! The Greens were shared by two holes, one out (Yellow Flags) and one in (White Flags) . These Greens are massive and no way interfered with the other holes. The only Complaint we had, was that the Pins were Cut just over mounds causing some very Nasty Putts. The Pins WERE NOT cut with pace of play in mind. But over all, would Play this course without a doubt over again.
Great Course
I have played the other courses before but the first for the new course. What a treat. Must play. The staff was great as I remember.
A "Must Play"
First time playing Grand Cypress and decided to play the New Course because it was a links course, mimicked St. Andrews, and just looked beautiful in pictures I had seen. Tee'd off at 8am and played in 4.5 hours. Course was in fantastic shape from Tee to Green. You could tell they had aerified the greens somewhat recently, but they were recovering well and rolled well. We found a great deal on GolfNow and cannot wait to go back. Cart girl was out and there were ice and water stations on the course as well. I highly recommend this Gem in Orlando, FL!
Not really a links course
Disappointing is a good description. It started with the starter putting us as a four ball then changing his mind after we had hit our tee shots. No towels on a hot day and they couldn't be bothered to get some for us. No GPS which is silly on that course with some many blind shots and a row with the group in front about hitting through. Grass far too long on the fairways for a links course.
I cannot think of anything positive about the round.
Globetrekker
Course was in excellent condition and staff was very friendly. Played layout of New course, St. Andrew's Links style.
Weekender
Prepare yourself for a slow round especially on the weekend. Other than that the place is outstanding. Recommend sneaking in on a week day to avoid the weekend warriors playing from the tips when they probably shouldn't be.
Florida resident
One of the best course's I have played in the Orlando area & I have played all the Disney course's Champion's Gate & others. Don't play this course if you are just taking up the sport or if you are a bit of a hacker as the course needs looking after. Pace of play is important so keep up with those in front of you for the good of the game.
Great course and in great condition
The course is always a pleasure and the GolfNow rate made it so much more enjoyable. The course is in great condition and pace of play was perfect
A typical Florida afternoon thunderstorm rolled in just before our round. The clubhouse worked with us to figure out when we would be able to get out on the course. There was a few other groups on the course and pace of play was great. Nice course with open fairways and nice large shared greens. Thoroughly enjoyed my round and will be going back!
